Frequently asked questions and answers about Colon & Rectal Cancer Screening Center to help you understand our services better.
What should I do if I am not able to tolerate my colon prep?
Please call our office in Fresno at +1 (559) 299-9395 or Madera at +1 (559) 673-4000 and one of our nurses will further explain the necessary steps. Should you have trouble after hours, our answering service will forward your message to the physician on call.
Am I allowed to take my regular medications prior to my procedure?
Your instruction sheet details the medication directions. As a general rule, it is best to hold your medication until after your procedure. Please contact our office for further clarification.
How long will my procedure take and how long will I be at your facility?
Your procedure is generally 15 to 30 minutes long and we need to keep you in our recovery room for approximately 45 minutes. Patients are typically at the facility for about 1 and ½ hours.
Is it permissible to bring children under the age of 16 to the Colon & Rectal Cancer Screening Centerr?
We prefer that children under the age of 16 not accompany adults who are scheduled for procedures at the Colon & Rectal Cancer Screening Center.
Will I be sedated for the procedure?
Our nurses will administer what we call twilight sedation. You will be able to make conversation during the procedure and follow instructions but should have to clear memory of what took place.
